January 22, 2012

For the next months I’m going to be pretty active in several activities with my good olde pal Hellvete.

First: I’ll be hitting the road for two dates in Sweden together with that dude. Check the live page for more info (although I don’t have much). Thanks to the Mother and Masskultur guys!

Second: german label SicSic tapes is going to release a pretty far out BBLL/Hellvete split. Two 15 minute smokers for your brain and lungs. Check out the artwork:

Last: the fine people from Smeraldina-Rima are putting up the first González & Steenkiste (BBLL + Hellvete collab) show. We’ll be opening for Glen Jones, I think! Super psyched! Also at around that time, our first release as a collab will come out on Eiderdown records from the States.

Yesssssssssirrrrrrrrrrrrr

December 31, 2011

The year 2011 has reached an end and well, it’s been a weird one… all this internet has made it hard for me to remember most of it… Resolution: pay more attention to shit.

Anyways, here’s a heads up to what will be coming very, very soon:

- BBLL tape on Young Girls. This shit should’ve been out already.

- BBLL / Hellvete split on SicSic tapes from the motherland, Germany.

- Sayona (BBLL + Shazzula) tape on Living Tapes from AMERIKA.

- González & Steenkiste (BBLL + Hellvete) : a purifying drone experience for true Pelt-heads. Not sure on which labels stuff will be released but keep your brain peeled.

- The usual Sylvester Anfang II crap.

- BBLL “El Telonero” LP

To end the year, I leave you suckas with 2 1 exclusive tracks and let’s try to make the world a better place, OK?

MUCH COCK

Grim November

November 1, 2011

November will see BBLL treading in some pretty dark waters: together with the restless Shazzula (Swamp Booking, Black Mass Rising Society) and some very kvlt friends, I’ll be engaging in a couple of free-electronic live rituals under the name Sayona. The first live experience will be in Paris at La Mécanique Ondulatoire in between Phaselock and Acid Mothers Temple. The second live performance will be in Berlin at the Manifest with a bunch of other acts including Silver Apples (!).

Check out the sonic invokations at Shazzula’s ReverbNation.

BBLL will also be present at this month’s edition of “Don’t Cum if You Don’t Like Noize” in Tienen (of course you gotta visit Noiseblog 2.0!!!). It’s always an honor to play for Oli and his crew… these guys have been at it for so long, bringing the filthiest acts around and they just don’t same get tired of it… as long as there’s enough beer, I think. Also their flyers have always kicked major ass:

All info available at the Live section, duhhhh.

All balls.

October = shows

October 4, 2011

Looking at my calendar and can’t help realizing how many shows are coming up around here in België: Morton Subotnick, High Wolf, Faust, Charalambides, Charlemagne Palestine+Tony Conrad but also your boy BBLL and Sylvester Anfang II!!! Check the shows page for all that nice info.

Also: the tape on Young Girls should be out soon. Love to Pierre-Yves.

Shit just realized that Pierre-Yves just released a recording of Sylvester Anfang II with the great Neokarma Jooklo Trio live at the Netwerk in Aalst. CD-R Edition of 3 (hahahahhaa). BIG BIG LOVE TO PIERRE-YVES AND TO THE JOOKLO GUYS.

Here’s the story told by the man himself:

“Jam between SA II & Neokarma Jooklo Trio
04/12/09 @ Aalst (Netwerk)

What about that shit ? Neokarma was touring in Belgium, i was supposed to set up their tour here. the show in Netwerk wasn’t schedule. But we met Ernesto Gonzalez the night before the show in Aalst. He was pretty drunk & me too. He said something like “hey c’mon guys, we have to jam all together tomorow with my band: silvester anfang, we are playing in the Netwerk, you have to come” & so. the Jooklo’s said yes.
The day after, Jooklo’s have refreshed my memory because i was just able to play at MarioKart all the day. After an awesome recording session that they made at La Ferme Du Biéreau, we took the car & we finally arrived at the netwerk & off course, Ernesto didn’t say anything about all this (other SA II members, organisator etc.). So after what we can call a big confusion (hey man, is it possible to put 9 people on the stage playing all together with strange instrument, is the sound enginer a kind guy ?), everybody said OK, we will play all together (even me … but actually that was just a kind of happening that we can call “sleeping on stage, first lesson”). & then, we played together.”

Awesome.

ENDLESS GRATITUDE 2011

September 2, 2011

Really psyched, nervous and honored to play in this year’s festival of Endless Gratitude in Copenhague. A bunch of bands will be rocking the crowd, including my good old pal Ignatz. Full line-up and more info here.

New site, new tape

August 8, 2011

After a loooong period of non-activity over the web, I’ve decided to launch a new website in order to replace the old freewebs one and the long-deleted Myspace. All of that stuff sucks. This one is easier to update and cooler looking. So fuck yessss, BBLL is back online!!

But on a more important note: the fine people from Cabin Floor Esoterica have just released a brand new BBLL tape and it looks so good! Not a surprise, these dudes always put tons of care in their releases. It’s called “Basement Surge” and it’s 46 minutes long. This release is similar to the tape on Sloow Tapes as far as sound sources go (analog synths, tapes, guitar, tons of spring reverb and echo) but with a way darker feel. I think this suits the grim summer vibe we’re experiencing here in Belgium. Don’t have my copies yet, but fuck it, get ‘em at their site! A million thanks to the CFE crew, yes yes yes

Basement Surge

This site has still has some tweaking to do, but in no time it’ll be up and running like the real deal maaannnn.
